Fusion™ is 100% acrylic resin paint without vinyl or excessive fillers. Their pigments are derived from natural organic or inorganic minerals, and their paint is 100% non-toxic with no lead and no phthalates. In addition, Fusion™ has a built-in topcoat that is UV, water and stain resistant.

Fusion™ is dry to the touch in approximately 30 minutes, with a recoat time of 1-2 hours. The paint takes about 21 days to fully cure. During that time, avoid heavy use and contact with water.
-
Just about everything! Fusion™ has been used on front doors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, even shoes! Proper prep is the most important step for success with these applications.
-
Yes! Fusion™ is water and UV resistant, so it can last through rain and is resistant to fading in direct sunlight. Over the past 10 years, it has been tried and tested - it will last through Canadian winters. It is not recommended to paint degraded, grey wood that has existing peeling issues.
-
A good paint is only as strong as the surface you put it on, so prep is the key to durability. We recommend cleaning all surfaces with the TSP Alternative or another degreaser. For surfaces with a high sheen, we recommend a scuff sand to dull the surface, adding some “tooth’ for the paint to adhere to. If the surface is too detailed, or can’t be scuff sanded, apply a coat of Ultra Grip™ first. For wood surfaces that are prone to bleed through or to seal knots, we recommend one or two coats of Zinsser BIN Shellac-based primer.
NOTE: Do not sand lead paint.
-
Each 500mL jar of Fusion™ paints about 75 square feet – which is about two coats on a large dresser. Coverage does depend on the colour you are painting with, your starting surface, and your painting technique.
-
Some paint colours are made with a transparent base to ensure true colour vibrance. Colours like Fort York Red, Renfrew Blue, Liberty Blue and a few others will indicate on the side of the container that 3 to 4 coats may be necessary for full coverage. On the side of the container, it also suggests adding a coat of a similar base colour to help with coverage.

Absolutely! Fusion™ is extremely durable and easy to wipe clean. Use a soft cloth and mild soap.
-
With Fusion™, you never need to use a topcoat, but there are times where you may want to. We recommend a topcoat for high traffic surfaces like a busy kitchen or dining tables. In this case, we recommend one of the many durable topcoats Fusion™ has to offer.
-
Fusion™ stays good for 7 years within it is stored in the sealed container. Once open, put a sheet of plastic wrap between the jar and the lid. This not only helps to keep the air out, but it also makes reopening the jar effortless.
